Register to empower you to vote-Vice President tells Ghanaians

Vice President John Dramani Mahama on Sunday called on Ghanaians irrespective of their political inclination to participate in the on-going biometric registration exercise to enfranchise them to vote in the December polls and subsequent elections.

“All you ought to know is that registration is the entry-point to all political elections and I urge you all to register to empower you to exercise your democratic rights in the coming elections and beyond.”

Vice President Mahama made this call when he took his turn to register in the on-going biometric registration exercise at Bole in the Northern Region where he hails from.

Flanked by Mr. Moses Mabengba, Northern Regional Minister, Alhaji Amidu Sulemena, Upper West Regional Minister and Mr Mark Woyongo, Upper East Regional Minister, Vice President Mahama queued and registered at the Bole District Assembly polling station, where he would be voting in succeeding elections.

He said there had been complaints all over the country, and that there was the need for every Ghanaian to participate in the exercise to propel Ghana’s democratic credential for posterity and other countries in the continent.

Vice President Mahama promised that government would provide the Electoral Commission with all logistics that would enhance a free and fair elections,come December this year.

The Vice President also took advantage of the visit to call on Bolewura Gbedese Amankwa II and sympathized with relatives of all who died after his last visit to his hometown.**
