Addinortey Addison Must Be Sacked Or NDC Will Lose Ashaiman

-Constituents Threatens

The strength of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashaiman Constituency in the Greater Accra Region appears to be dwindling, giving strong signals that the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is gearing up to make significant inroads in the constituency.

This is due to the failure of the incompetent Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) in the metropolis, Numo Addinortey Addison who has woefully failed in achieving the President’s Better Ghana Agenda from roads construction, drains, employment etc. The most people interviewed in Ashaiman have threatened to vote "skirt and blouse" in the forth-coming general election this year, if the situation in the constituency remains the same.

The NDC party, which is in its twentieth years stint at the helm of leadership in the Ashaiman Constituency, concerns making the rounds indicate that the party structures are broken, as people have hijacked the party. Further enquiries made, indicate that majority of party faithful in the constituency have no membership cards and are swinging to the opposition NPP making the NDC party weaker and weaker.

In depth investigations in the constituency, which is part of the `World Bank’ of the ruling party, point to the fact that a significant number of the constituents are yearning for a change in this year’s election? According to most constituents, who spoke with this paper, the MCE had visibly just little to show in terms of development in the constituency, further indicating that roads to the various areas in the constituency had not seen any construction, as they have remained in very deplorable state, thereby, making access to these areas very uncomfortable and stressful.

The MCE have left roads in the metropolis in very bad condition making motorist and pedestrians suffering on the bad road leading to drivers purchasing spare parts at high cost everyday.

In view of this the erstwhile Greater Accra Regional Minister expressed concern over the decision to award most of the roads on contract for simultaneous execution, without thinking about the effect it would have on commuters when he toured the municipality. “In fact, I am not happy about what I have come to see. Why should roads be blocked at the inconvenience of the people who need them to facilitate their movements to and from their work places to earn a living? This is bad,' these are words of the NDC Minister.

The constituents in an interview, therefore, called on the President to sack Numo Addinortey Addison and give way to another person in order for the area to have some real development, claiming he could not pin-point any significant development in the constituency for the twenty years opportunity given to the NDC but only to satisfy the selfish individual interests of some cronies. The MCE always seat at the comfort in his office without going to the field to work or supervise under-developed areas in the constituency that need urgent attention.

Ashaiman is a fast developing metropolis in the country which needs massive infrastructural development.

Some constituents have also threatened to embark on a massive demonstration if the President in his own wisdom does not sack failure Numo Addinortey Addison. Some Information picked shows that the MCE awards astronomical contracts to relatives and closest friends.

On sanitation, very little have been shown by the MCE in making Ashaiman clean. Rubbish have heaped up in all drainages in Ashaiman. The NDC will collapse if Numo Addinortey is still at post, the constituents have threatened.
