MTN supports Tamasco with educational material

MTN Ghana Foundation has provided education material and other packages valued over GH¢59, 164.00 to the Tamale Senior High School.

The items include library books, laboratory stools and shelves, sports kits, street lights and a 12-seat KVIP.

Making the presentation at the school premises on Friday Mrs Nabilla Williams, Board Member of MTN Ghana Foundation, said the government alone could not provide all the education needs of schools, hence the company’s decision to help to improve teaching and learning.

Mrs Williams said the Foundation would continue to enrich the lives of individuals, families and communities in which they operate with social investments that would enhance their well-being.

He said the Foundation had invested over GH¢ 904,000.00 in projects in the education sector and this include a six-unit classroom block for the Zujung community in Tamale, a three-unit classroom block for the Kanville Presbyterian Junior High School, an ICT Centre for Tolon and also assisting with teaching and learning materials for about 1,630 pupils in five basic schools.

She said in the health sector the Foundation had provided medical equipment to the Chereponi Polyclinic and was in the process of digging 10 boreholes for some communities.

Alhaji Tahiru Mahama, the Headmaster of Tamale Senior High School, thanked MTN for choosing the school as one of its flagship schools in the country and said the provision of street lights and the KVIP would improve security and sanitation.**
