Rear wall of Ho Municipal Hospital near collpase

The eastern wall of the Ho Municipal Hospital would collapse in the event of any big storm, Mr Jasper Ansong, Hospital administrator, has revealed.

There is a gorge under the wall, revealing its foundations, through which rainwater gushes onto the compound of the Ho Municipal Police Command making life unbearable for the Police personnel and their families.

Mr Ansong gave the hint on Monday during a meeting of management of the hospital with chiefs of Asogli on the state of the facility's maternal health performance.

He said the spectacle during a downpour is horrific and that "disaster is looming".

Mr Ansong said Hospital Management and the Regional and Municipal Police Command had met the Municipal Assembly over the issue and a decision taken to redirect the waters into a drain uphill but nothing had been done.

Mr Ansong said the whole stretch of the wall had been bashed by the flows for years and would definitely yield to the pressures of the rains this season.

He said the surface area needed some engineering to safeguard properties downhill.
