The Arrogance Of Power And The 2012 Elections

The 31st December Revolution that was launched to end all coups in Ghana according to then PNDC Chairman was totally different from the coups of 24th February, 1966 and 13th January, 1972 because these were only the changing of guards. December 31st defined itself beyond a coup de’tat because we had seen a mixture of interests between Soldiers, Ordinary men in arms, the young officers and the ordinary masses of our people. They were no longer talking about the Hierarchy of the top echelons of the Army as in 1966 or 1972. The people were not defining the political interests of a clique as from 1956 to 1966 when the UP tradition was in Opposition to Kwame Nkrumah’s CPP government which was violently overthrown by a Clique of UP Soldiers backed by the dreaded American C.I.A. operatives who bribed the Soldiers with $13million dollars to overthrow Dr. Nkrumah through a coup de’tat in 1966 and they did it since the CPP government’s socialist ideology was not acceptable to Western Interests. Therefore, Britain and the United States of America had to ensure that Nkrumah’s CPP government was violently overthrown in 1966 and it happened alright because there were a lot of Ghanaian traitors in both the Military, the Police, and most politicians who were very desperate to come to power by any means and at any cost in 1966.

Some of us were not surprised when the late Dr. Busia “won” the 1969 general elections against his own shadow because he campaigned alone for 3 years 1966 – 1969 under disguise by using the Centre for Civic Education while there was a ban on party politics with the CPP and its integral wings banned for 10 years and the NLC decree 345 made it an offence punishable by 5 years IHL – imprisonment with hard labour if one is caught in possession with the mere picture of the late Dr. Nkrumah between 1966 – 1969. It was the erstwhile PNDC government which revoked that callous decree from the country’s statue books.

C.D.R’s and the 31st December revolution.

Had we not had the 31st December revolution, we could not have rescued June 4 in 1979. The June 4 Uprising was a rage of revolt solely in the military, while the 31st December revolution was a true revolution. We did not wage the revolution for ourselves, we waged it for our children and the next generation. Therefore, to sit back and watch while some latter day saints in the N.D.C 2 administration to erase all the gains and legacies of the very revolution with impunity can never be acceptable. Before the 31st December, many professionals left the shores of Ghana NOT because of UNPATRIOTISM but they left for SURVIVAL and the country was a FAILED STATE in the eyes of the World Bank and the IMF since nothing worked in the country. Until the 31st December revolution, grey haired men and women who were the political Force of Ghana saw a new breed of Ghanaians taking up positions as POLITICIANS since politics is not for those who grow beards, but for anybody with a head on his torso.

One may ask, who was those new breed of Ghanaians in January 1982? Answer: They were the P.D.C’s/W.D.C’s – People’s Defence Committee members and the workers Defence Committees including this writer. In September 1984.

F lt. Lt. J. J. Rawlings changed the name of the P.D.C’s and W.D.C’s to the C.D.R’s. The CDR’s (Committee for the Defence of the Revolution) projected nonentities to FAME and have dressed KNOWN CROOKS in SAINTLY GARBS who now turn round to reward the CDR members with INSULTS, DISRESPECT, and SCORN. We shall not allow these ungrateful selfish and extremely greedy latter day Saints to succeed at all. We shall return revolutionary fire on them this election year just to show them that it is very dangerous as to chase a coward too far. We all thought that when Professor Mills becomes the President of the Republic in January, 2009, the remaining surviving Cadres who sacrificed extremely for 11 years and got NOTHING during the PNDC era, but continued to support the party will also be recognized and given some recognition through appointments. We were wrong because the NDC leadership had planned to do away with the Rawlingses and their Cadres and turn the NDC into CPP – because they believe falsely that THEY ALONE are now in power – MINUS the Rawlingses and their Cadres, but the REALITY IS NOW STARING them in their face since the masses who are in their millions standing behind Rawlings and the Government controls only the Delegates whose total number is just 3,200 people. In the Rawlings Camp, we are MANY, and they are FEW and so Can we all go to hell since anybody who dissents in the NDC is asked to go to hell? 2012 is an election year, and this is the very year for political party leaders to chose between Hell and Heaven. The NPP has already armed themselves to win the 2012 election at all cost, and the NDC has disorganized itself nationwide for 3 years and is still boasting to retain power after inflicting countless wounds on thousands of its die-hard members. Is the party not in a hurry to rather go back to Opposition? Food gained by FRAUD tastes sweet to a man, but it ends up with a mouthful of GRAVEL. These are not my words, see Proverbs 20:17 in the Holy Bible. Those NDC voting machines that have been dismembered by the NDC leadership and the government must be maintained and replaced with new Spare Parts or…………. We already know how Hell looked like from January 2001 – 2008 under Ex-Prez. Kufuor. Under Nana Akuffo Addo if we think it will be very sweet, then lets go there again. I beg to drop my bic here, but a word to a wise is enough. Former President Rawlings and President Mills are not important, but our country, Ghana. Is anybody listening? I am done. Aluta Continua!
