Tagoe counts on team unity against Tunisia

Prince Tagoe is banking on team unity to help Ghana achieve their Africa Cup of Nations title ambitions.

The Black Stars, after finishing top from their group are in the quarter-final of the tournament with the crucial eliminator against Tunisia set for Sunday in Franceville.

Ghana, title contenders have endured an average performance but Tagoe, who was a second half substitute in their last game against Guinea is confident that the Black Stars can ride on.

“There is unity in camp and that is keeping us going. I believe, come Sunday, we would be able to go through” Tagoe said.

“We are not thinking about which country we are going to play but I think that the unity in camp is taking us through.”

Having come on in just one game, Tagoe is bidding his time for another run out.

“As a player it is good to be playing. Since I have been able to play, I think it’s okay. We are just looking forward to the up-coming matches so that we would be able to go through,” he said.

And with a first appearance at this year’s tournament under his belt, Tagoe says he is just focused on helping his nation to glory and will welcome a debut goal.

“There is been no pressure on me since. I think eleven players have to play so when you are being called upon, you just have to give your hundred percent to your country. I am just hoping that I would be able to do that [score].”

Tagoe is making his second appearance at the Africa Cup of Nations after his debut in 2006.
