Kotoko plays down Hearts' poor run

Asante Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu believes Hearts of Oak's recent run of losses presents greater motivation for the Phobians to up their performance.

The two clubs meet at the Accra Sports Stadium in the top of the table clash Sunday afternoon, with just one points separating them in the Glo Premier League.

Hearts have stuttered with two straight losses, one against Dwarfs that ended their unbeaten record in the league and the other against Enugu Rangers in their Centenary Game in Accra.

Though hopeful, Konadu is cautious as he guides Kotoko for traditionally, the biggest game of the Ghana season.

"We ought to put things into right context", the Maxwell Konadu said ahead of the game. "The game against Enugu was a friendly, Sunday's clash represents one of the numerous fierce clashes between Ghana's most established rivals."

Konadu is demanding total focus from his side as he expects Hearts to come out strongly.

"Hearts have lost their last two matches and it could affect the confidence of the players. But we will take nothing for granted. I have a great deal of respect for Hearts who have a rich tradition and are capable of bouncing back when least expected."
