Tema Youth to report referee Ametepe

Tema Youth say they will report referee Yaw Ametepe to the Referees Review Committee for ‘playing a role in last Sunday's defeat at Liberty Professionals’.

The Port-City side were beaten 1-0 at the Sly Tetteh Park courtesy a controversial penalty expertly converted by goalkeeper Daniel Agyei.

It was Tema Youth's third straight defeat.

Officials of the club have accused the centre man of bias officiating and have confirmed they will lodge an official protest this week.

"I usually don’t comment on the performance of referees but I think that if we don’t talk about it, they will kill the game," Chief Executive Winfred Osei said.

"He (Ametepe) clearly was biased on the day and awarded a dubious penalty against us. It's very frustrating when such performances from some of these referees kill off all the effort you have put in a game."

It will be recalled seven officials were slapped with various degree of suspensions for poor officiating two weeks ago.

Youth lie at a parlous 15th position on the log sheet after picking just a point from a possible twelve.
