Following The Enquirer’s publication of yesterday which revealed that former President Jerry Rawlings had received more than what the Greenstreet Report stipulates for him, the Enquirer has received even more shocking information.
Details of government’s support for the former first family in the wake of the February 14, 2010 fire incident, in the possession of the Enquirer, show that, contrary to claims that nothing was done and the family were left to take care of themselves, government presented items worth more than GH¢40,000 to the former first family.
Government when contacted will not discuss any matter relating to the former president, but a FONKAR source, told the Enquirer that some items may have been presented, but that cannot be said to be good enough.
According to the FONKAR source, when the list was read out to him, he indicated that it would appear that former President Rawlings himself might not be aware of the exact items released to his family.

The Enquirer can, however, confirm that the items, which were requested and handed over to the liaison person appointed by the Rawlingses, Herbert Mensah, included one 29-inch flat-screen TV, two 21-inch TV sets, five (5) table-top refrigerators, seven (7) UPS and six (6) split air conditioning units.
The items, which were supplied to enable the former first family to settle into their chosen temporary home also included four double-door refrigerators, installation of a DSTV and upfront payment of subscription for six months.
According to our source, the list that was made available to the NDC party several months ago also included the installation of two large water reservoirs, payment for the materials and installation of the air-conditioners and emergency power supply works and installation.
The Enquirer source said the incessant noise and attack on the President and Party by supporters of Mrs. Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings can therefore not be justified.
Former President Rawlings last week launched a scathing attack on President Mills and the NDC party, claiming that he and his family were being treated as nonentities.
The position of the former president caused anger among sections of the top brass of the NDC, who are privy to the largesse he had been enjoying since fire gutted his Ridge residence last year.
So annoyed was an NDC guru that he described the former President as an ‘Oliver Twist’ who always demands more.
