Kufour rejects gov't TRASSACO house

Former President John Agyekum Kufour has also rejected a plush apartment offered him by government at Trassaco Villa located off the Accra Tema Motorway.

The office of the former president says the Mr. Kufour is not well informed about the said house being to him. Government is reported to have provided two houses for former presidents Jerry John Rawlings and John Agyekum Kufuor as part of the Chinery-Hesse Committee report which recommended that the two ex-leaders be given permanent houses and offices.

Ex-President Jerry Rawlings reportedly rejected a similar offer from government on the grounds that, it conflicts the principles of the NDC party.

But the news coming from the Office of Mr. Kufuor has however come as a surprise to many but his Spokesperson Frank Agyekum tells Asempa News that the former president rejection of the building comes after the authorities in charge failed to furnish him information about the said building.

Mr. Agyekum noted that the office of the former president will officially write to the government on this position by close of the week.
