PMI Gold reports tripling of resources at mine in Ghana; stock up 77 per cent

TORONTO - Stock in PMI Gold Corp. (TSXV:PMV) was up more than 77 per cent Friday, a day after the company reported a more than tripling of resources at its flagship Obotan gold project in Ghana.

"The significant size and strong grade of the interim resource demonstrates the potential for a substantial and long-life gold project at Obotan," the company said in a release issued Thursday.

The company also said there was "significant scope for future resource increases" that will be tested by ongoing drilling.

On the TSX Venture Exchange, PMI gained 45 cents to close at $1.03 Friday with more than 13 million shares traded, making it the most active issue on the market.
