Agona East MP urges Ghanaians to vote for Akufo-Addo

Asamoakrom (C/R), Oct 8, GNA - Mr John Kwesi Agyabeng, Member of Parliament for Agona East, has called on Ghanaians to vote for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, New patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate in the 2012 elections. He said the NPP presidential candidate had the vision and leadership qualities to lead the country into economic prosperity hence the need to vote for him. Mr Agyabeng said this when he toured the Agona East Constituency as part of his listening tour to interact with the general public and to discuss the problems facing the constituency. He said Nana Akufo-Addo has the capacity and strength to continue the solid foundation laid by former President John Agyekum Kufuor in his eight year rule. He said the NPP government under President Kufuor created many social interventions to help alleviate the suffering of Ghanaians and the NDC has not been able to initiate similar policies that would bring economic comfor= t for the people of Ghana. Mr Agyabeng said the economic hardships coupled with high secondary an= d tertiary institutions fees indicated that the NDC had failed to rule the nation. He said the promise made by Nana Akufo-Addo in the 2008 elections of making education at the secondary level free still stands and urged the people to vote for the NPP Presidential Candidate to reduce the burden of their fee obligations. He said the idea to create free maternal care, school feeding, capitation grant, National Health Insurance scheme, mass cocoa spraying exercise amongst others were attempts being made by the NPP government to free the Ghanaians from their economic woes. Mr Agyabeng said the decision to create the Agona East District was aimed at creating an enabling environment to improve economic and social development of the people in the area.
