Tap Into Opportunities Made Available By Nkrumah - Nduom

The 2008 flagbearer of the CPP, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, said the Founder’s Day should be considered as an important day where the Nation will tap into the opportunities made available by Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. It should be a day to reflect on the legacy of the founding father and build on the values and principles that enabled the realisation of independence. Ghanaians should take inspiration from the Founder’s principles and strive to realise their dreams and aspirations.

Dr. Nduom, speaking as a guest on Joy FM's Super Morning Show on Wednesday, noted that it is high time political parties that have been voted into power by the people to steer the affairs of this nation, do their part by ensuring that their manifestos or promises spewed out during electioneering era are fulfilled. He argued that many governments that have come forth after the Nkrumah led CPP, have reneged on their promises or done very little to improve the lives of the masses of Ghanaians. He therefore urged Ghanaians to consider giving CPP a chance, since it is the only political party that has been able to demonstrate its commitment to ensuring that the lives of the masses are enhanced for the betterment of this nation.

Sharing his views on why he is still into politics, considering his personal achievements both in the public sector and private life, he indicated that when an individual does something in private enterprise, be it positive or negative, it affects the lives of very few. On the other hand, if the government of the day does something positive or negative, it affects the lives of many more people. It is based on this that he cautioned the government to support local industries with its clout and purchasing power to ensure self determination, while the provision of schools should be done to ensure that all communities have the same schools for social justice, so as to propel the developmental agenda of this nation.

Dr. Nduom advised that leading members of the CPP should contest for parliamentary seats in their various constituencies to help the CPP generate excitement on the ground and to help increase votes of the CPP in the 2012 General Elections. He further reiterated that CPP members must learn from the imprints of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and make sacrifices to put the party at an enviable level in the political circles, so that the children that will come after this current generation will come to acknowledge and appreciate the legacy of the latter, just as we are doing today.
