Sankofa congratulates new CPP leadership

Accra, Sept. 12, GNA - The Sankofa Convention People's Movement has called on the new national executive of the Convention People's Party (CPP) to form an alliance with Prof Atta Mills and the NDC.

This was contained in a statement on Monday to welcome Samia Yaba Nkrumah, the new leader of the CPP and her team elected over the weekend at the party's national congress.

The statement which was signed by Mr Kwabena Adjei, the Coordinator, said 93 We believe you are a team destined to complete the task that Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah was unable to complete due to the rude interruption in 1966" it stated.

The statement added that the 93Better Ghana Agenda" must be completed to enable the Great CPP to build the 93New Ghana" from 2017.

It also urged all leading members of the CPP to consider becoming Members of Parliament as a strategic means of making the CPP vibrant.

The statement congratulated the General Secretary, Mr Kobina Ivor Greenstreet, and the vice chairperson, Susan Adu Amankwah and said, We believe they will work even harder now".

The group congratulated delegates for the good work done, adding that the delegates had proved that the CPP was ever ready to take over the mantle of leadership in 2017.
