Fake BNI lady exposed

It is has emerged that the anonymous caller who threatened to deal drastically with the News Editor of Space FM over a story published on ghanaweb, is not a BNI officer after all.

The said female caller who claimed she had called from BNI, Accra, did not understand why Space FM had carried a story which said the Omanhene of the Berekum Traditional Area, Daasebre Dr. Amankona Diawuo II, had been appointed as the chairman of the council of the IDEAS University College at Fiapre, near Sunyani.

The said “BNI operative”, who called with a Vodafone number 0202110220, did not mention her name and angrily asked our news editor who gave him the authority to do the story on Daasebre Amankona Diawuo’s appointment as chairman of the university council.

“How dare you write that the Omanhene of Berekum is the chairman of the university council, go and retract the story immediately else I will deal with you drastically”, she ranted on the phone and cut the line.

All attempts by our editor to calm her down and make her points clearly did not move this “BNI operative” who claimed she was acting on the orders of Mr. Rexy Lovell Mensah.

Independent checks by Space FM revealed that the call could not have come from any of the BNI offices in the country. The police are still investigating the matter.
