CPP will win presidential election in 2012 - Nduom

Elmina, July 18, GNA - The National Chairman of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Mr. Ladi Nylander, on Saturday described some people in the party as “nation wreckers” who are not seeking the good of the party.

He said such people should be “smoked out” and expressed optimism that the CPP could come out victorious in 2012 if it remained focused and worked harder than before.

Mr. Nylander, who is seeking re-election, said this at the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) constituency executive election at Elmina.

The election preceded the election of regional executives scheduled for July 20.

The newly elected KEEA constituency executives, declared by popular acclamation, are Mr. Joseph Edwin Amoa-Mensah, Chairman, Mr. Stephen Kwame Quayson, First Vice-Chairman, Nanabanyin Ofori Datsir, Second Vice-Chairman, Mr. Emmanuel Kofi Moses, Secretary, Mr. Ahmed Sulley Yawson, Treasurer.

The rest are Mr. Robert Ewusie-Aikins, Organizer, Miss. Mercy Baidoo, Women’s Organizer, Mr. Baidoo Amoah, Youth Organizer and Mr. Benjamin Dzantoh, Education Secretary.

The 2008 Flagbearer of the Party, Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, said the CPP would win the 2012 general election but victory would not come easily.

The Central Regional Chairman of the CPP, Mr. Kwame Adu Ansah, appealed to party members not to be selfish but rather be disciplined and remain united.

He said the regional Executives would embark on a project dubbed “Operation bring Central Region back to CPP” where they will ensure the CPP win all Parliamentary seats in the Region.

Representatives from the NDC and the NPP in their solidarity messages called on the CPP to be united to ensure lasting peace in the country and also wished them well in their endeavours.
