Ho Municipal Assembly can boast of many projects-MCE

Ho, May 31, GNA - The Ho Municipal Assembly could boast of many projects in the education, health, social and roads sectors worth million of cedis, Mr Isaac Kodobisah, the Municipal Chief Executive, has said.

Inaugurating Unit Committees of the Assembly in Ho, he said because the Ho Municipality was not limited to Ho town alone unlike other municipalities, many people did not seem to appreciate the level of developments in the municipal area.

Mr Kodobisah said the Assembly would furnish all the Unit Committees with lists of completed and on-going as well as planned development projects in the municipal area for the information of communities. "The role of the Unit Committees is very fundamental and crucial to the success of the Municipal Assembly since they are the building blocks of the Local Government system". "A weak Unit Committee foundation would not give the Assembly a sound and stable structure for effective Local Governance", he said. He said they should be proactive in identifying potential sources of revenue in their areas.

Mr Kodobisah said they must expect insults but they should be well composed as public figures. "If they insult you and you also insult back they will record your insults and play it to the whole public," he said. Mr Kodobisah said they are not to compete with chiefs for authority but liaise with them in carrying out their assignments.
