Black Stars programme announced

The Ghana Football Association has confirmed the training programme for the Black Stars ahead of their upcoming fixtures.

Ghana will first play Congo in a qualifying match for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations at the Baba Yara Stadium on Friday, June 3 and an international friendly with Korea in Seoul four days later.

Goran Stevanovic will on Thursday begin preparations in Accra with his named 24-man squad for the game against the Congolese.

"The Ghana Football Association wishes to inform the general public that invited players of the Black Stars will begin camping for the upcoming national team matches (Ghana v Congo Brazzaville and Ghana v S. Korea) with a non-residential first phase of camping from Thursday, 26th May to Sunday, 29th May, 2011 in Accra.

"Team training will be at 3.30pm each day except Sunday at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium. The non-residential phase is to allow players some time off after their yearlong football leagues away from home.

"The team will move into the residential phase of camping in Kumasi after training at 10.00am on Sunday, 29th May till after the Ghana v Congo 2012 Nations Cup qualifier return leg match on Friday, June 3rd 2011 at the Baba Yara stadium, Kumasi and departure for the Ghana v Korea Republic friendly match on June 7th 2011," a statement from the FA confirmed.

The Black Stars were 3-0 winners in the corresponding fixture against Congo in Brazzaville in March.

Ghana are top Group I with 7 points but with a better goal difference ahead of Sudan after three games in the qualifying campaign.
