Nima NDC Chase out Konadu’s Boy

An errand boy for Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, president of the 31st December Women’s Movement and a flagbear- aspirant of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) had a rude awakening when NDC delegates and sympathizers in the Ayawaso East constituency told him point blank that they will not support his madam’s bid to contest president Mills for the sole flagberership slot of the NDC for the 2012 elections.

Mrs Rawlings was hoping to cash- in on the massive support her husband, former President Jerry John Rawlings and founder of the NDC, enjoys in Muslim communities, particularly in Nima/Maamobi areas to get delegates in Ayawaso East constituency to help her bid to become the NDC’s presidential candidate in 2012.
However her move suffered a setback when the Youngman she sent on the errand was virtually chased out and told never to comeback to Nima on such a mission again.
Identified only as Kaseem, the young man is said to be the son of Hajia Maasughana, a staunch follower of Mrs. Rawlings and an ardent critic of President Mills.

“Go and tell your madam that the people of Nima love Rawlings so much , but we will not support Nana Konadu’s selfish ambition to bring disgrace to the NDC” the delegates and sympathizers who convened at constituency office in Nima charged.

This was after the errand boy had failed to proffer cogent reasons as to why President Atta Mills should not be given a second chance to lead the NDC in 2012.

As he struggled to explain himself away, the crowd grew impatient and ordered him to leave the scene immediately in order that he does not incur the peoples’ wrath.

Shocked by the turn of events Kassem remained glued to the seat which was offered him and could not utter a word.

He then begged for forgiveness and hurriedly left the scene amidst hooting and insults. ’Sheege’,’Munaafiki’,’Mutuminbanzaa’ were some of insults heaped on the gentleman.

As he drove away, even those who did not know the offense for which he was being hooted at also joined the fray.
