Apostle Mensah condemns excessive noise in the Church

Sunyani (B/A) April 24 ,GNA - Apostle Joseph Albert Mensah, Brong Ahafo Regional chairman of Ghana Pentecostals and Charismatic Council, has advised Christians to desist from making excessive under the pretext of praises and worship.

He said in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Sunyani, that such attitude was unchristian 93since it flouts the local government act, 1993 (act462), which makes it an offence to make excessive noise at the expense of another".

Apostle Mensah noted that the situation where churches hold night services and use loud microphones, depriving people of their sleep, was unpardonable and culprits must be sanctioned accordingly. He advised churches to desist from making excessive noise since praising and worshiping God did not imply making noise and urged those in service after 2100 hours not to use microphones.

Apostle Mensah said the effects of noise pollution could cause financial loss to individuals and the state and that made the act unchristian. The Environmental Protection Agency has made it clear that noise pollution can cause deafness, death and indigestion in human beings.
