Minister donates to Adabraka fire victims

Accra, April 16, GNA- Nii Armah Ashittey, Minister of Greater Accra, on Thursday called on Ghanaians to be very careful about using candles during lights out. He said fire was a necessity but a dangerous commodity that needed careful handling.

Nii Ashittey made the call when he donated items worth GHC 5000 to some residents of Adabraka after a fire outbreak on Saturday which claimed one life.

The items include 6 bags of rice, 10 pieces of mattress, 4 boxes of oil and washing soap, 5 bails of second hand clothing, 20 pieces of blanket, 2 bags of beans, bowls and mats. Nii Ashittey said the donation was to support the affected families and to express government condolence to the family of the decease.

Chief Baba Issah, Public Relations Officer of the National Council of Muslim Chiefs, receiving the items expressed appreciation to the Minister for the presentation. He said the items would go a long way to help reduce the pain and grieve of the families. 16 April 11
