UTMOG appeals to teachers to return to school

Winneba (C/R) March 11, GNA-The United Teachers Movement of Ghana (UTMOG), has appealed to striking teachers to return to the classroom room while efforts were being made to correct the mistakes in new salaries. Mr Apau Wiredu, National Coordinator, told a press conference in Winneba that the call by National Association of Graduation Teachers (NAGRAT)to teachers to stay to from the classroom as most unfortunate". The Movement therefore called on its members and other teachers to exercise restraint and remain committed by staying in the classroom whilst NAGRAT continue the dialogue with the government, "Our position in this matter is that the future of our children who a= re about to write their Basic Education Certificate Examination and West African Examination Council Examination should be mortgaged to preserve the present inept and non-inclusive NAGRAT leadership". They commended the government for its timely intervention, level of commitment and alacrity exhibited to negotiate, harmonize and resolve the problems emanating from the implementation of Single Spine Salary Structure for teachers. The Movement called on the government to fast track the process of correcting any anomaly in the implementation of the Single Spine Salary structure.
