NDC-China Statement On 6th March Independence Anniversary

GOOWILL MESSAGE TO THE PEOPLE OF GHANA ON THE OCCASION OF THE 54TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION (MARCH 6, 2011) FROM: NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS (NDC) – CHINA BRANCH

On the occasion of the 54th Anniversary of the Independence of Ghana, the leadership and the entire membership of National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the People’s Republic of China wish to extend our warmest thoughts and felicitations to all Ghanaians in our beloved Country and in the Diaspora. The NDC -China Chapter wish to say that as we mark this anniversary of our nationhood, we all recognise with much appreciation the contributions made by our forbearers who laid down their lives and whose blood and toil liberated us from the oppressors’ rule.

We are also appreciative of the visionary leadership of Our President Professor John Evans Atta Mills and his Better Ghana Agenda. We wish to let our pledge to support this agenda resonate throughout the world in the ears of Ghanaians where ever they might be during this anniversary celebration. Ghanaians must recognize the great milestones that have been chalked by the NDC Government since it took over the mantle of our dear nation. These achievements are visible in sectors such as – the Economy, Agriculture, Employment, and Youth development, Education, Health, Housing Security and Governance.

Let us all come together as one people, One Nation with a common destiny and reflect on how far we have come as a people. Let us reflect on how the good Lord has blessed us with every good and perfect gift from above.

It is time to rededicate ourselves to the ideals and vision of our forebears who knew we were capable of managing our own affairs as a people.

The time has come as a people to protect our independence and continue to be the star of Africa that has been and will always be the pacesetter and the beacon of peace and hope for the continent.

The time has come to realise that we must remain united as a people so that we can guard our freedom diligently and stand at all times to resist every form of colonialism and neocolonialism.

The time has come to renew our pledge to build our Nation Ghana – the only Nation we have and cannot afford to lose.

Arise! Ghana Youth for your country! The Nation demands your devotion NOW, more than ever!

Arise! Men and women of Ghana!! Take your places in the future of your Country and Church.

Arise! Leaders of Ghana!!! Take up your mantles and lead our motherland into her glory among the Commonwealth of Nations.

On this occasion, we want to call on all Ghanaians irrespective of their political inclinations to support the Government of the day to deliver the Ghana Better Agenda to improve the lots of Ghanaians.

May God continue to Bless Our Homeland Ghana, and Make Our Nation even Greater and Stronger.
