Government is a continuum. Why are you talking about the 9.2 billion dollars NPP left behind for you. What of the 30 tonnes of gold Npp left, and you sold all leaving 18 tonnes. Ghanaians are not fools.

The Nkrumah regime built a jute factory in 1962 – constructed by then Taylor Woodrow.
The raw material – kenaf - the plant fibre used to produce the sacs was grown by farmers in the Afram Plains. In 1991, the jute factory located in Kumasi that employed over 400 people closed down.
Every government comes in and laud cocoa farming as a vital mainstay of the economy but never or sparingly talk about revitalizing the defunct jute factory. You have the Asantehene sitting there (not that it matters), the Agric ministers sitting there, the cocoa farmers sitting there, Cocoa Board sitting there, the chiefs and elders in the cocoa growing areas sitting there, and the head of government sitting there who cannot bring a simple jute factory into production. BUT would RATHER IMPORT JUTE SACS? Good job people!!!!! How much will it take to help Afram Plains farmers grow KENAF - the raw material plant - to supply a revitalized jute factory in Kumasi?
Not talking about any political ideologies, but DO you now Miss Nkrumah’s industrialization policies? If you take stock of all factories built in the 1960s that are now defunct and you revitalize some or most of them the economy would be very self-sufficient. I guess some people would say ‘we know this already’. OK. Just do it. What are you waiting for? Whew!
