Entrepreneur urges colleagues to embrace training opportunities

Accra, Jan. 20, GNA - Ghanaian entrepreneurs have been urged to take the opportunities offered by training workshops to enhance their management capacities and improve on their businesses. Nana Appiagyei Dankawoso, Chairman of Greater Accra Regional branch of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI), made the call at their monthly meeting in Accra on Thursday. He said it would be of no use for anyone to have the necessary resources but lack the managerial skills to put them into effective and profitable use.

"It is very important for us as businessmen to have knowledge on financial management and record keeping to sustain and grow our businesses," he added.

Nana Dankawoso advised entrepreneurs to avail themselves for training workshops organised by the chamber and pay their dues regularly to enable the chamber to honour its obligations satisfactorily. Mr Seth Adjei-Baah, Member of Parliament for Nkawkaw and First Vice-President of GNCCI, said the Chamber would continue to support members to expand their businesses.

He said the Chamber would ensure that members enhanced and sustained their businesses and urged them to support the National Executive Committee to achieve its objectives.

Mr Nathaniel Tetteh Larkpleku, Head of Department of Business Banking, SB-SSB explaining various products of the bank and how members could access them, announced that management was undertaking feasibility studies on a new product- "Factoring" that would enable the management to purchase invoices from businesses for cash. He said the Factoring System when in operation would be strictly business transactions between one entity and the other.
