Woman demands sex to raise money to settle tax

Kumasi, Dec. 23, GNA - A 43-year-old trader, Faustina Adusei held the genitals of an Internal Revenue Service (IRS)Officer and asked him to have sex with her and pay later to enable her to raise money to settle her outstanding tax.

Faustina, who appeared before a Kumasi Circuit Court for failing to honour her tax obligations and assaulting three IRS officials, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two months' imprisonment.

Victoria Adusei, a 17-year old student and daughter of Faustina, who was in the dock with her mother and pleaded guilty to the charges, would also serve a two-month' prison term.

Yvette Boakye Kumi, a 16-year old student and second daughter of Faustina, was referred to the juvenile court.

Prosecuting Police Chief Inspector Collins K. Fosu told the Court presided over by Mr Justice Emmanuel Amoh-Yartey that Mr Eric Gandah, Mr Padmore Zeina and Mr Ebenezer Fosu were IRS officials at the Asokwa Distric= t Office and Faustina operated a mini consumable shop and a students' hoste= l at Bomso, all in Kumasi.

He said Faustina was invited and served with letters to remind her to honour her tax but she had failed to settle her obligation for three years. On August 23, 2010 the officials went to collect income and sales tax from traders including Faustina at Bomso.

Chief Inspector Fosu said when they got to her shop, the daughters lied to them that their mother had gone out and when the officials were about to lock-up the place they resisted.

Yvette pushed Mr Gandah and he fell down and broke his right arm. Faustina emerged from her hideout and assisted her daughters to assault the officers.

Faustina held Mr Gandah's genitals and asked him to have sex with her and pay her afterwards to enable her to pay the outstanding tax. A report was made to the Police and they were arrested.
