Indian Firm To Train Ghanaians In IT

Inga Farms Ghana Limited, in collaboration with Maharashtra Knowledge Cooperation Limited (MKCL) of India, has announced plans to provide world-class Information Technology (IT) education to Ghanaians in order to bridge the digital divide.

Vivek Sawant, Managing Director of MKCL, addressing the media in Accra last week, said the two companies will not only promote IT education but also focus on providing vocational training services to people in Ghana and West Africa as a whole.

He said the organizations seek to maximize individual, governmental and community potential as well as work in partnership to support, enhance and provide access to local Information Technology Infrastructure (ITF).

“Our company will also be offering successfully implemented governance software programmes that can be plugged in and put to use in Ghana where the government frequently requests for companies to tender for the provision of soft ware solutions,’’ he added.

In addition to assisting the government to greatly reduce the time it spends on software tenders, the company’s software will also offer government the opportunity to earn new, quicker and more efficient revenues.

Mr Sawant said his outfit will continue to offer vocational training services to students and members of the general public with critical information technology skills necessary for survival and success in the coming decades.

He further stated that MKCL has provided IT education to more than 5.4 million people in India over the past eight years.
