CHRAJ boss Short retires

Accra, Dec. 2, GNA - The Commissioner for Human Rights and Administrative Justice, Mr Francis Emile Short, has retired voluntarily from the Public Service with effect from November 30, 2010.

A statement signed by the Secretary to the President, James Bebaako-Mensah in Accra on Wednesday said President John Evans Atta Mills had approved the decision of Mr Short, 67, to proceed on voluntary retirement.

It said President Mills thanked Mr Short, who assumed office in 1993, for the dedicated Service he rendered to Ghana during his tenure as Commissioner and wished him well.

Mr Justice Short also served as a judge with the UN International Criminal Court for Rwanda in Arusha, Tanzania from 2004-2009. Following Mr Short's retirement, President Mills has appointed Ms An= na Bossman, Deputy Commissioner, as Acting Commissioner with effect from December 1, 2010.
