NDC Youth organizers threaten to quit

Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A), Nov. 19, GNA - Some 130 National Democratic Congress (NDC) youth organizers in the Dormaa-West Constituency have threatened to quit the party if the assistant constituency youth organiser, Mr. Kwame Gyamfi, was not expelled from the party.

The constituency and zonal youth organisers issued the threat in Dormaa-Ahenkro at a crisis meeting to discuss what they said was Mr Gyamfi's "unrealistic demand and uncouth attitude" towards the MCE, Mr. Vincent Oppong Asamoah.

Mr. Gyamfi granted an interview to Adom FM radio station during which he poured scorn on the MCE and announced his immediate defection from the party.

The youth organizers said Mr Gyamfi, by his action, had not only ignored the party's laid-down channels of communication but had also proved his gross disregard for authority.

They said his outburst at the MCE and the party did not reflect the level of honour bestowed on him by the party at the constituency level in spite of his relatively low academic attainment.

They stated Mr. Gyamfi was a "stranger" who must be expelled from the party as early as practicable to forestall any further display of indiscipline towards the party's constituency hierarchy.

"If after all these sentiments by his colleague youth organizers, the party should continue to consider Mr. Gyamfi as a true member of our esteemed NDC, then we would have no option than to take the hard decision to quit and find our levels somewhere else", the youth organizers said. 19 Nov 10
