More Pilgrims fly out

Accra, Oct. 28, GNA - The airlifting of Muslim Pilgrims to the Holy land of Mecca is progressing smoothly without any hitch, since the first batch of pilgrims were flown out on Monday, October 25th, 2010. Over 700 pilgrims have so far left Accra for Mecca, with the rest expected to leave within a week.

Alhaji Abdulsatah Mohammed, Secretary of the Tijaniya Muslim Movement in the Greater Accra Region, told the Ghana News Agency, at the Kotoka International Airport that, there had been no interference in flight schedules for the departing pilgrims, adding that, the fourth batch of pilgrims, as well as rest, were accordingly booked to leave on schedule.

A total of 3000 Pilgrims are expected to leave Accra for Mecca, to perform the 2010 Hajj. The Pilgrims are being flown in batches of 266 at a time. This is expected to be done by nine flights with the last batch expected to leave Accra by November 4th, 2010.
