RDPP-- UK Bankroller arrives in Accra to fund expansion of Party

Intelligence gathered by Global News confirms reports that the alleged UK financier who initially bankrolled the formation of the pro Rawlings breakaway Real Democratic Patriot Party (RDPP) has arrived back in the country to fund the expansion of the Party to other regional capitals.

Raphael Cubagee, also known as Shamo Quaye, the National Coordinator of the RDPP is alleged to have told friends and sympathisers in Sunyani that the UK based bankroller arrived in the country sometime last week and that after series of discussions the RDPP was in the process of launching a branch base in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital.

Speaking on Adom fm last Monday, Mr Cubagee told Adakabre ( Adom fm interviewer) that a leading member of the NDC had defected to the Party but he Cubagee would not go public with the name of that person.

According to Raphael, the RDPP had held meetings in Brong Ahafo regional capital in Sunyani where he claimed the Party headquarters will be based. He said the RDPP will soon launch its programmes in Kumasi, Accra and then Wa and Tamale in the northern sector, where he anticipated membership recruitment drive is expected to be in region of about one million voters.

It would be recalled that sometime in Septembers this year; Mr Cubagee held a series of radio interviews where he explained the formation of the RDPP. During one of such interviews, Mr Cubagee explained that an unnamed Ghanaian gentlemen in the United Kingdom is the founder of the Party and that the gentleman and some NDC activists resident in the UK “supports every exercise or activity “that he Cubage was doing and that if he helped the RDPP to come to power his interests would be taken care of.

Although Mr Cubagee failed to mention the name of the bankroller, the former NDC activist claimed the RDPP founder is a Ghanaian resident in the UK who is worried about the trend of events in the country, and after outlining his vision and what he intends doing if the Party comes to power, he Cubagee’s was convinced RDPP would be the right party for Ghanaians.

Cubagee told reporters that” the person (the UK Bankroller) realised I was well vexed in politics and so he asked me to join the party to help him”…. Mr Cubagee alleged that the mysterious UK bankroller who he also claimed to be an educationalist and a farmer has expressed his desire to relocate his business interests to Ghana to see that the RDPP takes hold on the political landscape in Ghana.
