PCL rebrands Star Kist tuna

Accra, Oct. 9. GNA - Management of Parry and Company Limited (PCL), distributors of Star Kist canned fish, at the weekend, unveiled a new label for its tuna flakes in sunflower oil product in Accra. The new label, which had been lithographed (printed) on a sturdy can that cannot be easily dented, is a departure of the paper label, which Star Kist products have been identified with on the market. Mr Daniel Twimasie, Chief Executive Officer of PCL, said other canned products of the corporate entity, would be distinctively lithographed with the new label to check counterfeiting.

Mr Nichol John Elizabeth, General Manager of Pioneer Food Cannery Limited, producers of tuna flakes and canned foods, told the Ghana News Agency that his outfit produces more than 40,000 tonnes of tuna yearly, adding Star Kits products command a three-per cent of the figure. He said management had projected that Star Kist brands would hit 10 per cent of production for the next three years.
