NDC serial callers threaten to boycott party activities

Serial callers and social commentators of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Northern Regional capital of Tamale, have issued a two week ultimatum to the party’s executives to either support their communications team effectively, or they will boycott all party related activities and radio discussion programs.

The group is also calling for the appointment of a Regional Communications Director to ensure effective coordination.

They condemned the NDC Northern Regional executives for not acknowledging the important role they play towards achieving the Better Ghana Agenda.

In a press statement signed by eight members of the Communication’s Team, they expressed their disappointment at the regional executives for ignoring the crucial role they play in educating the general public on government policies.

“We as members of the communication team of the party in the region are particularly worried about the situation where we do not have a definite leadership. We cannot understand why the regional executives have not been able to activate the process of appointing a communications Director for us, since that position was declared vacant after the 2009 congress,” the serial callers said.

Secretary to the Communications Team, Mahama Zakariah, called on the President Mills’ led NDC administration to flush out the few selfish individuals in the party whose activities are discouraging the party youth in the region.

He concluded that such lukewarm attitude towards the NDC youth accounted for the ceaseless youth agitations and internal bickering within the party in the region, and asserted that the situation led to the reported cases of defections to the NPP in Tamale.
