21 September declared as public holiday

Accra, Sept. 20, GNA - The Ministry of Information on Monday confirmed that Tuesday, September 21 is a Statutory Public Holiday marking the Founder's Day.

A statement issued by Mr James Agyenim-Boateng, Deputy Minister of the Ministry said the Ministry of Interior last week issued a statement announcing the holiday and encouraged Ghanaians to observe the day as such.

The holiday has been instituted by government in honour of Ghana's first President, Dr Kwame Nkrumah who was born on that day.
