Muslims in Winneba mark Eid Ul Fitr

Winneba (C/R) Sept. 11, GNA - The Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, Nii Ephraim, has asked Muslims in the area to embrace peace because without it, no meaningful development could take place. The MCE made the call when he addressed a large number of Muslim worshippers to run off their 30 days fasting in Winneba. Nii Ephraim also entreated them to put aside their political sentiments and contribute their quota to supplement government's efforts at developing the nation. He commended them for a successful fasting and expressed the hope that they would continue to maintain the discipline they exhibited during the fasting.

Alhaji Mohammed Mansuru, Chief Imam of Effutu, led the worshippers in prayers for the President, Members of Parliament and the prosperity of the nation. In a related development, Mr Mike Hammah, Minister of Transport and MP for the area, presented 50 bags of maize, 30 bags of rice, 35 bags of beans and 500 poly mats to the Muslims. He also presented 200 Ghana cedis towards the celebration while Mr Kofi Tailor, Central Regional Treasurer of the New Patriotic Party presented 100.00 Ghana cedis for the celebration.
