Muslims urged to translate worship into show of love

Wa, Sept. 10, GNA - Alhaji Issahaku Salia, Upper West Regional Minister, has urged Muslims to translate the worship of God into show of love and care for their families and the needy in society to receive more blessings from Allah. He said a Muslim that observed all the five daily prayers without showing love and compassion to people especially the needy would not be fully blessed by Allah. Alhaji Salia said this when he addressed Muslims on the occasion of this year's Eid-ul Fitr Celebration at Wa on Friday. He said the 30 days of fasting was a form of workshop meant to draw all Muslim bothers to become closer and devoted to Allah and called on them to use this year's celebration to create a peaceful society for development to thrive.

Alhaji Salia reiterated government's preparedness to work with everybody despite his or her religious or political background to ensure a holistic development. He said the efforts put in by government so far had translated into a stronger economy that would soon yield dividends to ensure a "Better Ghana" as promised by the government. He pointed out that the provision of educational infrastructure as well as the free distribution of school uniforms and exercise books to basic school pupils were very significant interventions government took to improve the educational sector.

Alhaji Salia said agricultural improvement interventions such as the Youth-In Agriculture, the subsidized fertilizer facility and the "Block Farming" programmes had created jobs for the people and helped in building a stronger economy.

He said the government would soon work on the roads that had been damaged by the rains to make them accessible for economic activities to go on. He appealed to the people to help the security services to maintain law and order in society by exposing all suspected criminals in their midst to enable people to go about their businesses without the fear of being robbed. The Muslim leaders offered prayers for government and the entire people of the country asking God to bring about peace, prosperity, progress and development. Alhaji Salia later donated cartons of assorted soft drinks to the Muslim leaders to towards the celebration.
