Accra Brewery ready to delist from the Stock Exchange

Accra, Sept. 8, GNA - Majority shareholders of Accra Brewery Limited (ABL) have passed a resolution to delist the company from the Ghana Stock Exchange, Mr Greg Metcalf, Managing Director of the company, announced on Wednesday.

He was speaking to journalists at the end of the Company's Annual General Meeting organised in Accra.

Mr Metcalf said the company would start the processes required to effect the decision.

He added that ABL would recapitalize its business in order to be more competitive on the market.

Mr Joseph Abeka Biney, a minority shareholder, who is not in favour of the decision, said the delisting from the stock exchange did not mean that the company had stopped working.

Mr Biney said all shareholders had the option of either benefiting from capital gain or payment of dividends stressing that the former could be exploited by the minority shareholders now that the company had to be delisted.
