Anglican Church condemns human trafficking and homosexuality

Koforidua, Aug. 12, GNA - The Anglican Church has condemned human trafficking in the country and commended the security agencies for their alertness and commitment towards the eradication of such degrading practice.

The Church has called for a closer collaboration between the Church and government to provide protection and care for children, who are at the risk of being abused.

The criticism was contained in a communique issued at the end of the First Session of the 10th Synod of the Koforidua Diocese of the Anglican Church in Koforidua on Wednesday.

The statement said that the church also abhors homosexuality and recognizes only monogamous marriages among its members.

It congratulated the government for achieving single digit inflation and expressed the hope that its economic benefits would be felt in the pockets of the ordinary Ghanaian.

The Church praised government for planning to construct a footbridge at the Suhum junction and appealed to the authorities to rehabilitate the Suhum-Asamankese road to enhance economic activities.

It appealed to Members of Parliament to build consensus in their deliberations.
