President predicts victory of Black Stars over Uruguay

Accra, June 28, GNA - President John Evans Atta Mills arrived in Accra early Monday morning, from an official visit from South Africa, with a prediction of a handsome win of the Blacks Stars over Uruguay in the quarter finals of the FIFA World Cup Tournament.

He said the victory of the national team next Friday would be determined if they continue to perform creditably and acquaint themselves of the rules of the game and remain disciplined, committed and dedicated as a playing body.

"They have played very well, they are aiming higher and are aspiring to do honours for their country," he said. President Mills said he congratulated the Black Stars after watching their match with the US who they scored 2-1.

He said the playing body are in shape for the up coming duel and that the Black Stars would pay their dues.

President Mills called on Ghanaians to continue to pray and support the Blacks Stars till the curtains of the 2010 FIFA World Cup is brought down. He said government support for the National team is total and would continue do to ensure that their stay in South Africa remain fruitful. 28 June 10
