Mysterious deaths of animals under investigation

Goaso (B/A), June 25, GNA - Fear has gripped the people of Nobekaw near Kukuom in the Asunafo District of the Brong-Ahafo Region, following the mysterious death of farm animals in the town. Officials of the Wildlife Control Unit in Goaso are finding it extremely difficult to identify the suspected wild animals that had invaded the area.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the assemblyman for the area, Mr. Antwi Boasiako, said the mysterious animals invaded the town two weeks earlier and was suspected to have killed a number of goats, sheep and other domestic animals in the night.

He said the dead domestic animals had their intestines and other internal parts removed, adding chiefs in the area had performed rituals but the situation persisted Meanwhile, wildlife officials from Goaso have intensified night patr ols in the area to trace the suspected wild animals to bring the situation un der control.
