Ghanaian soccer fans still hope for second round qualifications

APA-Accra (Ghana) Despite the Black Stars drawing with the Socceroos of Australia in the second Group D match of the ongoing World Cup in South Africa on Saturday, Ghana soccer fans still hope that the team can qualify for the next round of the mundial.

Black Stars drew 1-1 on Saturday in their second game resulting in Ghana topping the group with four points and needs only a draw in the last group match against Germany on Wednesday to qualify for the second round.

Josephine Ehuren, a public servant and a fan contended that Ghana will qualify to the next round while Beatrice Bentum, a 14-year-old pupil maintained that so far as Ghana did not lose the game, they can still beat Germany or draw with them and qualify to the next stage.

Most soccer fans did not give up when Ghana went down 0-1 in the early minutes of the game and they were singing and dancing at various joints where giant screens had been mounted till the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
