Koforidua thrown into wild celebration after Blacks Stars victory

Koforidua, June 14, GNA - Koforidua Municipality bust into wild celebration of the 1-0 victory of the Black Stars, over the Serbia national football team- White Eagles at the FIFA World Cup tournament in South Africa on Sunday.

Immediately after the final whistle of the match was blown, groups of young men, women and children some dressed in the national colours and carrying Ghana flags and accompanied by musical groups poured unto the main streets of Koforidua in jubilation.

Mr Collins Opoku-Frimpong, a soccer enthusiast who was blowing his vuvuzela, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the match was nice and the Black Stars performed far better than they did in their friendly matches played before the tournament. Mr Samuel Atta Aboagye, who was holding a Bible with a band bearing the national colours told the GNA that he had fasted and prayed for the Black Stars on Sunday and was happy that the team carried the day. 14 June 10
