Eighty-five graduate from Ashesi University College

Accra, June 5, GNA - Ashesi University College, a private tertiary institution, on Saturday presented degrees in various fields of discipline to 85 members of the class of 2010 to mark the sixth anniversary of its establishment.

The fields of discipline include Computer Science, Business Administration and Management and Information Systems. Dr Frederick Ocansey, Vice Dean of the School of Education, University of Cape Coast, Mentor Institution for the Ashesi University College, presented the degrees to the graduands at a ceremony in Accra. Mr Kweku Bediako, Chief Executive Officer of Chase Petroleum, who was the guest of honour, challenged the graduands to go into the world and make a difference adding "you have been armed with all that it takes to achieve that".

Mr Bediako encouraged the graduands to believe that they too could attain the highest level that others had reached, and for which they admired them.

Dr Patr ick Awuah, President of the Ashesi University College, congratulated the graduands for their excellent performance saying they represented hope for the college and the entire country. Dr Awuah said the College would forever remember the 2010 class for their "diversity, academic performance, creativity and empathic spirit and leadership potential". Some of the graduands who distinguished themselves were presented with various awards for excellence in upholding Ashesi's pillars of scholarship, leadership and citizenship. Nana Ama Serwa Akosa was adjudged the overall best graduating student. 5 June 10
