I am not too old, I am still strong -Nana

Nana Addo woos delegates

GIVE ME A SECOND CHANCE

From Nana Yeboah-Asuamah, Sunyani

THE 2008 presidential Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo-Addo has passionately appealed to delegates in Brong-Ahafo not to heed to the propaganda about his age that he is too old to be the Presidential Candidate of the party.

“I am not too old, still strong, send me again to fulfill your expectations, because not all persons are worthy messengers,” Nana pleaded with delegates. Speaking to delegates within Brong-Ahafo region on separate meetings, Nana Addo re-echoed that the issue of being too old has become an unfortunate weapon by opponents to thwart his ambition to lead the party to power in 2012, but it would not work, because the voice of the people is the voice of God.

The flag-bearer Aspirant christened himself as “Nana Ababio” with the belief that when delegates offered him another chance in August 7, 2010 victory will never elude the NPP come 2012. According to Nana Addo among all the propaganda fashioned against him, the one that hurts most is he being too old, describing it as unfortunate because competence and experience counts in the administration of a nation, therefore delegates should treat the issue about age as irrelevant to make a preferred choice.

Nana Addo noted that Ghanaians made a mistake by choosing a wrong messenger in the person of Prof. John Evans Atta Mills as President who has failed to deliver, but gradually retarding the enviable progress the Kufour led NPP government made. “Please delegates listen to the cry of the regretted Ghanaians calling for Nana Addo and the NPP government to deliver them from their current economic woes by the NDC government,” he pleaded. According to the Flag-bearer aspirant, the defeat of the NPP in the last elections could be the will of God to demonstrate to Ghanaians the difference between a party with pragmatic policies which is the NPP and the one which lacks realistic policies which is the NDC, so that next time they would look before leaping.

He said there cannot be light without darkness, so Ghanaians have seen the darkness in the NDC and are now looking for the light in NPP come 2012, therefore NPP should do well to organize it self properly to give Ghanaians the light.

Nana Addo again noted that unity in the party is very prudent to wrestle back power from the NDC in the 2012 election, urging members of the party to take cues from the current maltreatment and intimidation by the NDC government and party members against them. He said the current intimidation and maltreatment by the NDC should inform NPP delegates to unite and make a favorite choice desired by majority of Ghanaians who wished for the return of the NPP.
