Gays and lesbians invade Takoradi

It was a spectacle of disbelief when a group of gays and lesbians congregated on the soil of East Tanokrom, a suburb of Takoradi, specifically Royal Gem Gardens apparently to socialize and take stock of their illicit affairs.
This weird function, which took place last Saturday, had in attendance a total of about 60 gays and lesbians who had travelled from three regions to join their counterparts in Takoradi for the reunion. The group, according to sources, came from the Eastern, Ashanti and Central regions.
The occasion also saw the presence of the President, Vice President and Chief of the gay association, who were introduced to the other members. A junior High School student from Takoradi, who was spotted among the group by her mother, sent her wailing and weeping over the association her son has joined. The group is said to have rented the Royal Gem Gardens, without disclosing its identity, and later extended invitation letters to their colleague gays of the gathering. It was when the guests started arriving for the function that their real identities were revealed.
Upon arrival at the venue of the programme, some of the men changed their cloths into female wear. The programme eventually kick-started with gospel music and prayers offered to herald the programme. After the speakers had spoken, the floor was opened for dancing and other recreational activities.
This was spiced with the distribution of condoms and lubricants at the venue. Interestingly, others present, who were perceived not to be members were strictly warned never to attempt to go into a secret room at the venue. The said secret room was allegedly reserved for gay couples who used the place to have sex.
However, when Kyzz FM, a local radio station in Takoradi broke the news, residents of Takoradi were held spellbound. This led to bigwigs in the town to come out to condemn the gathering. The programme was however recorded by an ace cameraman with Kyzz FM, who took a video and pictures of the event. The management of Royal Gem Gardens, which rented out the venue for the programme, also walked up to the management of Kyzz FM to explain that they were unaware that the people who rented the place wanted to use it for such a programme.
According to them, they would not have rented out the venue if they were aware the individuals were gays.
The Chief of Tanokrom, Mahmoud Tano, has also expressed grave worry over the conduct of gays in his jurisdiction.
