Old Vandals to hold crisis meeting

Accra, May 8, GNA - Old Vandals Association, the alumni of Commonwealth Hall of the University of Ghana, Legon, is to hold a crisis meeting on Sunday to be followed by a press conference on Monday. The gathering would be as a result of the outcome of a meeting held last Friday to deliberate on the decision of the University Council to change the status of Commonwealth Hall from an all male hall to a graduate mixed hall from the next semester.

A press statement signed by Razak El-Alawa, Director of Communications of the Association, said that a committee was set up to prepare a resolution to state the stand of the Association on the issue to be presented at the crisis meeting on Sunday. The Committee had Mr. Egbert Faibille as the chairman and Mr. Kweku Larbi, Mr Peter Zwennes, Mr. Kwame Takyi and Nii Harry Bannerman as some of the members.

The meeting brought together prominent old Vandals from the Greater Accra Region, members of the Council of Elders of the Association and delegations from the other regional branches. Speakers at the meeting included Mr Justice Anim Yeboah, a Supreme Court Judge and a member of the Council of Elders and Mr. John Mbroh, acting National President of the Old Vandals Association. 8 May 10
