Alan Kyeremanten begins tour of C/R

Kasoa, May 8, GNA - Mr Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten, one of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential aspirants has began a one-week tour of the Central Region, as part of his campaign to become the flagbearer of the party.

Mr Kyeremanten held discussions with polling Station Executives, constituency Officers and members of the Council of elders of the party in the Central Region.

Speaking at separate meetings at Kasoa, Gomoa Ankamu and Gomoa Ekwamkrom, Mr Kyeremanten urged the polling station and constituency executives to elect a flag bearer who is dynamic, humble, young and energetic and can win power in the 2012 elections. He said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) cannot be easily defeated and that the NPP needed a candidate who could win more floating voters.

Mr Kyeremanten said for the NPP campaign to become solid and strong, it must begin from the polling station executives and assured that he would conduct a clean campaign, devoid of insults and acrimony to enable the party to be strong and united to defeat the ruling NDC in 2012.

He said the NDC government's bad administration has brought untold hardship to Ghanaians and urged the delegates to vote for a candidate who can reverse the negative economic policies to ensure a better life for all. Mr Kyeremanten said Ghana needs a young President and cited US President, Barrack Obama as an example and also in the United Kingdom (UK), where it's likely a younger Prime Minister would be elected.

The Presidential aspirant was accompanied by Mr Kwabena Adjei Agyepong, former Press Secretary to President Kufour, Mr Yaw Buabeng, Mr Kwasi Djamasi, former Volta Regional Minister, Mr George Benson and Nii Adjie Boye, ranking members of the NPP. 8 May 10
