Vice President Mahama calls on party loyalists to remain calm

Kumasi, May 7, GNA - Vice President John Dramani Mahama on Friday called on National Democratic Congress (NDC) loyalists to remain calm in the face of intimidations and humiliations from opponents. "We are so grateful that you have all given us your support, even during hardships to win power and we shall do everything possible within our means to make you enjoy your share of the National cake." Vice President Mahama said this when he visited Madam Akua Afriyie, a 90-year-old NDC loyalist who alleged she suffered intimidation from opposition members in her Ashtown residence in Kumasi. The woman had earlier called on the Vice President at the Residency during his a two-day official visit to Kumasi to attend the 60th birthday of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei-Tutu.

The Vice President said elections were over and there was the need to see each other as first and foremost Ghanaians and not as people belonging different political parties. 07 May 10
