Security forces in Bawku abate blood shed

Bolgatanga, April 6, GNA - The swift intervention of the security agencies in Bawku on Monday prevented a clash between some feuding young men in the Municipality that led to the partial destruction of a bus driven by one Mohammed Yushawu.

The Municipal Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mr. Godwin Cashman Blewushie told the Ghana News Agency in an interview that a misunderstanding between the young men at the Ghana Private Road Transport Station (GPRTU) nearly marred the peace and stability of the town. He said there was no cause for alarm and advised the disputing parties to fulfil their promise of fixing the vandalised vehicle.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Musah Abudulai, confirmed that the local

GPRTU had resolved to settle the matter and had therefore withdrawn it from the

Police. Last week two murder related deaths were reported in the Municipality. One was

a nurse anaesthetist working with the Bawku Hospital, whilst the other victim was

selling beverages in the town. The body of a woman who was also reported missing last month was found in a

well with fracture.
