Clergyman calls for unity among political parties

Accra, April 4, GNA-Reverend Felix Mensah Agbo, Head of the Tesano branch of the Global Evangelical Church, has called on political parties to tolerate each other's view to ensure peace and national development. He said the situation where some political parties were at loggerheads does not augur well for national growth and development. Rev. Agbo made the call at a Resurrection Day Sermon in Accra on Easter Sunday under the theme:" Harnessing all Spiritual Gifts to build a Healthy Church"

He said:" If you are in a different party and I am in a different party, we are not enemies and that we do not have to shed blood to win political power."

He advised political parties to back people who have the development of the nation at heart. Rev. Agbo urged Ghanaians to have compassion on the under-privileged in society and help them to become productive citizens in society. He urged them consider the occasion of Easter as period of renewal of faith in God and to serve him in truth and in spirit. Rev. Agbo also advised Christians to explain vividly the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and desist from creating the impression that his death was meaningless as they avoid negative tendencies which tend to bring the religion into disrepute. He urged Ghanaians to love each other and reconcile and live in unity and oneness since Christ who died to save mankind was a man of peace and love.
